Programme Overview
The Thatcher Fellowship brings together exceptional young people aged 21 and over for an intensive leadership experience. In partnership with Young America's Foundation, fellows explore the principles that defined Margaret Thatcher's legacy while engaging with leading conservative institutions.
Programme Highlights
Fellows participate in exclusive visits, high-level discussions, and cultural experiences across Washington D.C.
Supreme Court
Exclusive visit to the highest court in the United States, exploring constitutional interpretation and judicial philosophy.
Congress
Behind-the-scenes access to Capitol Hill, including meetings with Members of Congress and policy briefings.
Heritage Foundation
Sessions at America's leading conservative think tank on policy development and political strategy.
Cato Institute
Engaging with libertarian perspectives on individual liberty, limited government, and free markets.
Leadership Institute
Training in grassroots organising, campaign management, and effective conservative advocacy.
Cultural Experiences
Visits to Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian, and an evening at a Washington Nationals baseball game.
Programme Structure
The 10-day fellowship is divided into two dynamic parts:
Part One: Institutional Immersion
Fellows explore Washington's political landscape through exclusive visits to Congress, the Supreme Court, think tanks, and cultural landmarks. Includes seminars on conservative principles, policy debates, and networking opportunities.
Part Two: National Conservative Student Conference
Fellows join the prestigious National Conservative Student Conference hosted by Young America's Foundation. Engage with leading conservative speakers, activists, and fellow students from across America.
Eligibility & Benefits
Requirements
- Aged 21 or over at the time of the programme
- Demonstrated interest in conservative politics and leadership
- Strong academic record and extracurricular involvement
- Ability to commit to the full 10-day programme
- British citizenship or residency (preference given)
